About
Sara R. Farris graduated in Sociology in Rome. She studied and taught at “La Sapienza”, University of Rome, where she acquired her PhD in 2007. Since 2007 she has held several research fellowships and grants in different European countries. She was research fellow at the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam from September 2007 until September 2009; DAAD research fellow at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 2008; researcher at the Theory department of the Jan van Eyck Academie from January 2009 until December 2010 and research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Konstanz, Germany in 2011.
From December 2009 until December 2011 she was also European coordinator of the sociological section of the EC funded project Daphne III "Combating Violence and Discrimination Against Second Generation Migrant Women".
Until December 2010 she was lecturer in 'Contemporary Social Theory' at the Amsterdam University College, and in 'Gender, Migration and Development' at the Graduate School of Social Sciences of the University of Amsterdam.
She is currently lecturer in ‘Political Parties in Europe’ in the European Studies Department at King’s College London.
