About
Egle is a PhD researcher at the King’s College London School of Law, holding a Bachelor in Law and Management from Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania) and an LLM in International and Comparative Law from Uppsala University (Sweden), where in 2003 Egle was awarded a Scholarship for Socrates/Erasmus studies. Her Master’s thesis focused on the coordination of exportability of family benefits in the EU, with the main emphasis on the United Kingdom and Lithuania.
Egle’s academic interests lie in the area of human rights, European Union (EU) constitutional and internal market law, in particular the relationship between the EU and Member States, EU citizenship, free movement of persons and migration. She is especially interested in solidarity and how it manifests itself as a fundamental value in European law and policy. Her doctoral research deals with the balance between social rights and fundamental freedoms in the EU.
