Carool Kersten is a historian of religion, Islamicist and Arabist. His research interests include contemporary Muslim thought; the intellectual history of the modern Muslim world; Islam in global and transnational contexts; Religions and history of Southeast Asia; Theory and Method in the Study of Religions.
He is the editor of the book series 'Contemporary Thought in the Islamic World' (Ashgate)
